The strength of our service lies in our understanding of the experimental design of preclinical efficacy studies, as well as our extensive experience in the development and implementation of different experimental methodologies utilizing histochemical and immunohistochemical techniques. We can provide researchers with input at the early planning phase of an experiment or carry out histology at any stage of a project, depending on your need.

HistoProbe is equipped for paraffin processing, both cryostat and microtome sectioning. For immunostaining we utilize the Shandon Sequenza system. Tissue section analysis is carried out using a microscope equipped with a Nikon digital camera connected to a 1G PIII computer running the latest version of the Image Pro Plus image analysis software. It is also possible to set up inflammatory and autoimmune animal models partnering with the University of British Columbia.

HistoProbe Consulting has an expert panel of consultants ready to help you with your projects.

During this time he established then supervised the histology lab at QLT Inc; developed, characterized and applied in vivo models for pre-clinical efficacy testing of therapeutical regimes; designed efficacy studies and prepared study reports to be included in IND applications. Dr Ratkay has also been involved for 10 years in consulting work with both academic and biotechnology clients. He has authored 40 publications in the area. He is a member of the National Society for Histotechnology, the Histochemical Society, the Society for Applied Histochemistry, the Microscopical Society of Canada and the Canadian Society of Immunology.
Dr Doug Waterfield is Associate Professor of Immunology at the Faculty of Dentistry, UBC. He is an internationally recognized expert of autoimmune diseases and chemokines.
Dr Neidy Gong is a Research Associate in the Biotechnology Laboratory, UBC and an expert of the cytokine-chemokine network, with broad experience in developing and testing cytokine antagonists.
Modestus Obochi Ph.D., M.B.A. has experience in both preclinical drug development and corporate R&D strategies, including drug in-licensing.
Guillermo Simkin Ph.D. has 24 years of expertise in clinical chemistry, clinical and experimental immunology. In pre-clinical R&D he has developed a broad experience in models of acute and chronic inflammation including autoimmune diseases.

Clifford Lin BSc is an interdisciplinary expert with training in microbiology, computer science, and biomedical engineering.
