Q: Can you do immunostaining or immunohistochemistry (IHC) in paraffin embedded tissue?
A: We can perform just about any antibody staining validated for paraffin sections. Unfortunately, antibodies in animal research are rarely developed for formalin fixed tissue. We prefer avoiding antigen retrieval, unless there is a well recognized method available for the given antibody. Thus we adopted the zinc-tris fixation method that makes paraffin embedded tissue sections suitable for immunohistochemistry.
Q: We have an antibody for our target antigen, but no protocol for the staining. Could you develop a method for us?
A: Custom development of IHC staining is our main specialty.
Q: Do you include controls in your IHC staining batches?
A: Positive and negative controls are always run with each set of slides when available.
Q: We are just thinking about a project involving IHC. Should we contact you at this early stage of the project?
A: Contact us early so we can help you with the result oriented design of your experiments! Did I say the earlier phase of your study you contacted us the better result we will achieve together? - Guaranteed!
Q: Can you take pictures and analyze them?
A: We use a JenaMed2 microscope equipped with a Coolpix 990 connected to a PC computer with capture/control and image analysis software. ImageProPlus is used for image analysis and we have broad experience in macro development for IPP to make semiquantitative image analysis of multiple slides fast and affordable.
Q: Do you offer any discounts?
A: We offer a 25% discount for new customers on samples and orders received during the first 3 months. Batch and volume discounts are also available. There are temporary/ special discounts you can find out about by contacting us or frequently visiting our site.
